Alexander Peña

Director

Mexican-American violist/conductor, Alexander Peña, serves as Director of Orchestra at ‘Iolani School and is a regular performer with the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra, Hawai'i Chamber Music Festival, and Maui Chamber Orchestra. Peña also enjoys working as a guest clinician, chamber musician, and coach with programs including the University of Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Music Institute, and Hawai'i Youth Symphony.  A founding-member, violist, and conductor with the Lakes Area Music Festival Orchestra in northern Minnesota for over 10 years now,  Alexander earned an Arts Leadership Program Certificate, the Robert Oppelt Viola Prize, Bachelor and Master of Music from the prestigious Eastman School of Music.  In 2019, he also received an Executive Graduate Certificate from the Global Leaders Music Program, where he was awarded the Global Humanitarian Entrepreneur Prize.
