About the Artists
Better known as the concertmaster of the Hawaii Symphony and a classical music performer, violinist Iggy Jang wanted to offer something “outside the box.” “During my youth in Paris, I lived to see many colors abound: cultural, human, historical, gastronomical...” Although Tango originated in Argentina, it was present in the streets of Paris; Astor Piazzolla actually spent some time there to hone his composition skills. “It has always been my desire to pay homage to the genre, through Piazzolla’s original instrumentation: piano, violin, bass, electrical guitar, and most of all, bandoneon. Tango offers extraordinary colors, and like all music, it is about telling a story.”
